Mark D. Herbst

Mark David Herbst, 61, passed away Sunday, May 18th peacefully in his home with his family by his side. After a long courageous fight with cancer Mark leaves behind a devoted wife Dianne, son Paul and husband Clayton Tinney-Herbst, son Jason and girlfriend Sara Gunther, son Andrew and girlfriend Cassie Hammond, and adoring pet Maggie. Mark was born January 27, 1953 to Virginia and the late Joseph Herbst. He also leaves behind 5 siblings Carol Roberts, Joseph Herbst, Pierce Herbst, Eric Herbst, David Herbst and several nieces and nephews. Mark and Dianne married in 1974 in Oxford, MA and relocated to Cape Cod in 1979 where he established Mark Herbst and son's a family run business.

Mark loved the ocean, boating, fishing and weekends on Sandy Neck with family and friends. Weekly bowling and poker games with his close circle of friends gave him the strength to carry on. Some of his fondest memories were winter trips to Sanibel Island with his loving wife and Sunday cookouts with his boys. A memorial service will be held at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis from 3-6 PM on May 31, 2014.
