Judith W. Beck

Judith “Judy” W. Beck, 88, of Centerville, MA passed away on May 28, 2022. Born in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude (Peppercorn) Wasser. Judy grew up in the heart of New York City and then moved on to the University of Connecticut where she studied art.

After raising her family, she entered Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science and a Master’s degree in Arts. In addition, she earned a State of Connecticut Certification in Landscape Design and Horticulture.

Judy resided in Cheshire, CT and vacationed on Cape Cod for over 35 years before moving to the Cape as a year round resident 25 years ago. While living in Cheshire, CT, Judy had a successful career as a Real Estate Agent.

She was an Artist Member and Director of the Cape Cod Art Association, an Artist Member of the Cape Cod Museum of Art and the Yarmouth Art Association. Her work was exhibited in many one person and group shows in Connecticut as well as the Cape, where she won numerous awards in juried exhibitions. She studied with nationally noted artists Hilda Levy at the Creative Arts Workshop and Howard Fussiner at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven.

She worked many years as a landscape and garden designer and did volunteer work as a Cape Cod Cooperative Extension Service Master Gardener.

She is survived by her husband, Stuart Beck of Centerville as well her two sons Lawrence of Port Orange, FL and Robert of Wareham, MA.
