Janet A. MacLeod

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Janet M. MacLeod.

Ms. Macleod was a graduate of Girls Latin School, Class of 1939 and Miss Fay Secretarial School in Boston.

She had been employed as an assistant treasurer and internal auditor for Massachusetts Indemnity and Life Insurance Company for over 35 years, retiring in 1975 and then served as internal auditor for Barnstable County National Bank in Hyannis from 1975 to 1987.

Ms. MacLeod was a member of the Federated Church of Hyannis, a member and Past Matron of Roslindale Chapter # 104, Order of the Eastern Star and served as Deputy Grand Marshall of the Grand Chapter of Massachusetts, OES in 1961. She was also a member of the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary, Barnstable Branch and served as treasurer for 10 years.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret J. (Peggy) MacLeod. She was predeceased by her brother Hector D. MacLeod and his wife Mary Kirby MacLeod.

Friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 1:00 pm on Friday, March1, 2013 in the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main St., Hyannis, MA. Burial will be private and at a later date in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, MA.
