Mr Ruberti was the teacher who made a difference in my HS experience. Floundering around, trying to figure out who I was, he was the one who inspired me. Drama Club was the highlight of my HS years. What a wonderful man who made the difference not only for me but for so many others. Love to the Ruberti family,

Went to the Celebration today. Only they could turn a passing into such a special event. I was blown away. What a great family.  Special people. Jim is my stand up comedy brother.  His dad would have been proud today. No more wakes and funerals. James Ruberti on a stage with a microphone and some of my jokes is the way to go.  Joking, those jokes were all his. This message I should mention is sponsored….wait for it,  by Ruberti Construction. A subsidiary of Eversource, and whatever Jim’s  two sons and the wife do. God bless. Thank you Ruberti family for an awesome day celebrating a great man I was unfortunate to ever get to meet. 

I was Dean's Assistant graduating in 82. I remember him getting mad when I was told to report to the deans office. He said no Assistant of mine gets in trouble. The slip of paper was only showing C Thompson. Besides myself Charlie Thompson was also in my homeroom. After he complained they started to write C E Thompson. Guess what, besides me Charlie was also middle name with an E. He was so mad.  I also remember our class trip to Curacao.  He had a blast. 

Dear Pat and family,

I am so very sorry that Jim has passed away. He was a one-of-a-kind entertainer and dear friend who never failed to put a smile on my face with all of his hilarious jokes, accents, silly antics, and stories about Fitchburg and BHS. He brought a lot of joy to the planet and will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

I was not a great student, I was not the most popular kid in school, I was just an average kid trying to make my way and overcome the challenges. of life. I was ok at some things, and I did have a good memory. I decided on a whim to try out for a school play. The name of the play was "Curse you Jack Dalton" Mr. Ruberti decided to give me the lead villain role! It was quite a part and had many lines to remember.  I was so excited and did not want to screw it up so I  went home and memorized all the lines in the play. At the 1st rehearsal I told him I did not need the sheet with the lines because I had already memorized them, He was quite impressed and told me as much with a few simple words of encouragement. We had a great time, and he definitely made all the difference in my studies from there on out. He will be missed! Thankyou Mr. Ruberti!

So sorry to you all! Sending prayers, love, and hugs!   So many memories, from school to plays w him, to after life after school!   Great man.

The obituary remembrance describes Jim perfectly! He was all of that and more.  John first met the Ruberti’s 56 years ago which resulted in working together on the first musical at BHS, “West Side Story”.  I joined the incredible team of Jim, Pat, Phyllis Cornforth, John, and Frank Greene a year later. Those years working together and bonded in friendship were priceless; and remain near and dear to our hearts. 

There is no other beacon of light like Jim Ruberti! His family, colleagues, and friends will share his story and legacy for years to come!

I met Jim and his wife Patricia 30 years ago sharing coffee and laughter at the old Copper Kettle ( now the Daily Paper, West Main ) in Centerville. Over the years we shared many memories and I always loved Jim's company, his wit and intelligence. Recently the daily morning coffee routine moved to the Daily Paper on Main in Hyannis and what a wonderful way to start a day being in Jim's company. I will miss him so much. God bless to all the Rubertis as you mourn the passing of this wonderful man. Elaine Johnson. 

I am a graduate of the class of '82..My parents and Aunt and Uncle would probably raise an eyebrow to this, but my fondest memory was when deans assistant, Kelly Conway Laport caught up w my cousin Roberta Amado and I one holiday season. She gave us a small stocking w little faux pieces of coal inside. "She said, these are from JR. He said Merry Christmas.  And by the way your the only 2 girls that got one!"... That was typical JR! He really just wanted what was best for all of us. Such a well loved and respected educator. Rest Easy Sir. Job well done.

I am sadden by the loss of a very strong willed loving man. He was my dean from 82-86 and my junior and senior year he was trying his hardest to keep my in line. He always found the best in everyone and tried to show it to us. He will be deeply missed but always in our memories.

How is it even possible that we all must face a “Jimless” world?
This one really hurts. To think that I won’t bump into that face, that smile , that wit , around town , is hard to process. So many fabulous memories of this larger-than-life , awesome human being… He will be forever loved and missed! Heaven will never be the same haha!!!!!

My deepest condolences to the Ruberti Family on the loss of such a wonderful man.
Mr. Ruberti was not only a great teacher and Dean to us at BHS,  but a wonderful neighbor as well! 
We lived down the street and I can remember delivering him an invitation to my dog’s first Birthday party when I was 9 years old.  His reaction was so kind and warm, unlike some other neighbors who thought I was a silly kid…he smiled and ensured me he, and his dog Abigail, would most certainly attend. 
Not only did he and Abby attend the party, they brought a gift and stayed and he assisted in organizing the party games.
Such a kind, caring soul. He will be missed. 
We will keep his family,  and all who had the pleasure of knowing him, in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.


Prayers for Pat and children. May Jim Rest in Peace now and and be up there with the Angels making them laugh. He will always be in our hearts and memories.

Jim was the consummate mentor to so many. He challenged you to be your best; then nudged and praised you until you achieved it. Such a large personality. He was a one-of-a-kind gift to every person whose life he touched. Thank-you “Mr. Ruberti”. Enjoy your eternal reward.

Was going to say how sad I was to hear of Jim's passing but I don't think he'd want us to be sad.
   A great man who touched the lives of many in myriad ways. He was my dean at BHS and I had the pleasure of working with him on a few productions at the BCC. Being something of a wide-eyed innocent, I was a little afraid of him and definitely awed by his booming presence!
     When I was all dressed and made up for my performance as Belle in "A Christmas Carol", Jim once did a theatrical bow while he commented, in English accent, "Miss Lennon, I swear you were born in the wrong century!"  

Jim Ruberti certainly blessed the lives of so many young people under his guidance and theatrical mentorship not to mention adults as well! I had the privilege of portraying The Wicked Witch of the West in a Summer Family Theater presentation of The Wizard of Oz at the Barnstable Comedy Club in 1985. My daughter was also in the production, and our family dog!
My deepest sympathy to Jim's family and all who were touched by this remarkable man's life.

Dear, Dear Jim:  I met Jim when he cast me in The Pajama Game at the Barnstable Comedy Club.  The guy just loved to come in the door with a thermos full of coffee and a five-pack of the cigars with the plastic tips. He was a riot and dearly loved at the club. My fondest memory was senior picnic for class of 82.  I had never seen him lose his cool till he got a pie in the face. I was his deans assistant  he helped me thru my parents deaths.  He served  Barnstable in so many ways.  Including Barnstable  police drama clubs  teacher dean mentor counselor. If anyone is at peace in heaven it's him.  He wore his wings here on earth

Jim Ruberti is a legendary figure in the annals of BHS and Cape Cod theatre. And one of the great influences in my life. RIP Jim. You are missed and remembered, today and in the days to come. My condolences to wife Pat and their family, of which Jim was so very proud. With love, Jim Frangione. 

Sorry to hear of Jim's passing.  He was a valuable meber of the BHS faculty.  I fondly remember Jim's sense of humor as well as his drama productions.  

Jim Ruberti was the best English Teacher of all time at BHS. His talent as a Stage Director was unparalleled. Hollywood was desperate to hire him but he knew there is no place as nice as Cape Cod. He taught us how to act in The Pirates of Penzance and we all had loads of fun on and off stage. He had the very rare talent of being able to make an entire room of people laugh without saying a single word. A tiny facial expression was all he needed. Thank you Jim, for your friendship and wisdom.
