HYANNIS- Evelyn E. (Thomas) Hill, 89, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at South Dennis Healthcare with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Carroll J. Hill, with whom she celebrated many years of marriage.
Born in Macon, GA, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Medora Thomas. Evelyn spent her career working as a home health aide in Boston with the Council of Elders for over 20 years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and interior home decorating. Above all, she will always be remembered for her kind and loving nature, specifically as a caring wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived and will be deeply missed by her five children, Debra Owens, Ricardo Bennett, Vicki Lake, Kim Bennett, and John Hunt; six grandchildren, many great grandchildren; a sister, Fannie May Howard; and several nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by her six sisters and two brothers.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 24th from 1 to 3 p.m. at Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W Main St. Hyannis. Her funeral service will be held inside the funeral home directly following visiting hours at 3 p.m. Burial will take place privately.
