Elise “Lee” C. Snow (Callanan), of Marstons Mills and formerly of Chatham, passed peacefully at EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Harwich on June 26, 2013 at the age of 82 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Lee was born in Gloucester, MA to Geneva and Howard Callanan. She was raised in Danvers, MA and graduated from Holten High where she met her loving husband of 42 years, the late Robert M. Snow. Lee lived in Hamilton, MA for many years. In 1977, she and her husband moved to Cape Cod and purchased and operated Mister Donut and Donut Works in Hyannis.
She is survived by her brother, Howard C. Callanan, Jr. of California, and her children; son Robert M. Snow, Jr., his wife Anna and their children, Nicholas, Alexander and Victoria of Marstons Mills; son Douglas Snow, his wife Joyce and their children, Dustin and Nathan of Oakland, ME; and daughter Rebecca Monger, her husband Peter and their children, Sarah and Lauren of West Barnstable.
Her love of art was evident in her passion for creating prints of all kinds, quilt making, Nantucket baskets, as well as sailor’s valentines. She won many awards for her floral designs and was a judge for the NE Flower Show. Lee was very active in the Cape Cod Women’s Golf League, Cape Cod Art Association and Quilting Guilds. Besides golfing, quilting and artwork, Lee enjoyed spending time with her family.

A memorial service honoring Lee will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Barnstable, MA on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11:00 am.
