She was born to the late Margaret and William Mather in Sagamore, MA, November 5, 1935. Elaine graduated from Yarmouth High School and graduated class of 1957 from UMass Amherst earning a BA in Education.
After college Elaine and her family of seven resided in Springfield MA. She began her professional career in 1974 working as a parole officer for the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services. She then advanced to become the first woman in the agency’s history to be appointed Regional Director.
She is survived by her brother William Mather and children William Danaher and his wife Terri, Deborah Danaher, Joseph Danaher, Kathryn Danaher, and Jenna Patrice. She is survived by Joseph Faucette companion of 36 years; and the many friends she always seemed to be making where ever she happened to find herself.
Funeral Services will be held at Doane, Beal & Ames, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis May 7 with viewing at 9AM, a service at 11AM, and a burial service at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery at 11:30.
