Eileen Catherine Rull, 92, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, in Centerville, Massachusetts. The youngest child of John and Margaret Browne, formerly of Cambridge, Eileen was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She spent many years in Milton before making her home in Centerville.
Eileen was the devoted wife of the late William Lawrence Rull Jr. and is survived by her daughters, Rosemary Burgess and her husband Steven of Plainville, Massachusetts, and Kathleen Chrisom and her husband Peter of Weymouth, Massachusetts. She was a proud grandmother to Jonathan Burgess, Caitlin Burgess, and Peter Chrisom.
Her love extended beyond her immediate family to many nieces and nephews, particularly her niece AnnMarie Booth of West Wareham, Massachusetts, with whom she shared a special bond. Eileen was a graduate of Saint Mary’s High School and Somerville Hospital School of Nursing, and later went on to study at Northeastern University. She was especially proud of her work caring for children during the polio epidemic, a testament to her unwavering dedication and compassion.
Outside of her professional life, Eileen enjoyed reading, knitting, and sewing. She was also an active volunteer, supporting causes such as homelessness outreach in Hyannis and literacy programs in Barnstable. Her generosity and kindness touched the lives of many in her community and beyond.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor her memory to perform an act of kindness in her name.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, at Our Lady of Hope Chapel in Barnstable, Massachusetts. The viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:45 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
