Born on July 23, 1932 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late
Anthony and Mary (Carr) Constantine.
He attended English High School in Boston, MA and then went on to
Hellenic College in Brookline, MA. He later graduated from Boston
University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
In December of 1962, he was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army.
Following his discharge, he returned home to work at the family owned
Mary Ellen Restaurant in Hyannis with his parents and brother,
Charles. During that time, he was also a drummer for the Charles
Edwards Orchestra.
For many years, Edward was a Quality Control Manager at Honeywell in
Brighton, MA and went on to work for Augat, Inc. in Mashpee until his
retirement.
Edward enjoyed many hobbies and was a talented craftsman. He was also
a history enthusiast and loved classical music and artwork. More than
anything, he cherished the time that he shared with his family.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Constance (Kaplanes)
Constantine of Hyannis; his son, Anthony Edward Constantine of
Hyannis; his daughter, Donna Marie Wickstrom and her husband,
Christopher of Harwichport; and his grandson, Harrison Edward
Wickstrom of Harwichport.
Family and friends may call from 9:30-11:30 am on Thursday, September
5, 2013 at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street
in Hyannis.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Thursday,
September 5, 2013 at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church of Cape Cod,
1130 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632.
Burial will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s memory may be made to the
Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Hematology, Development
Office,165 Cambridge Street, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114.
