Dennis is predeceased by his parents James A. Babineau and Dorothy I. Babineau both of Dorchester, MA. Dennis is survived by his brother James Hughes of Brockton, MA along with his wife Marilyn, Christine Gillis of Weymouth, MA along with her husband Chester, Marko Babineau of Reseda, CA, Marie Andersen of Branford, CT along with her husband Peter, Clare Armstrong of Fall River and Patricia Babineau of Naples, FL. Dennis is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.
Dennis moved to the Cape when he was 18 years old. After learning of his friend, Donald Greene’s death in Viet Nam Dennis enlisted for 3 years of service in the Army and requested to be sent to Viet Nam. He quickly rose in rank to be a Sergeant in the Army. Dennis worked as a Senior Mechanical Designer and an Applications Engineer for Stone & Webster in Boston & then for many years at Sencorp White in Hyannis. While enjoying retirement Dennis was an avid golfer and belonged to both Olde Barnstable and Hyannis golf courses. Dennis was a Patriot, a very talented artist, lover of music, an avid animal lover and enjoyed fishing, photography and he was always in awe of Mother Nature. He will be missed by many, many people but never forgotten.
Visiting hours will take place Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA from 10 am to 12:30 pm immediately followed by a military burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne. Please no flowers.
