"Bit" David "Bit" Allen Babbitt

He was married for 25 years to Debra L McManus of Barnstable, MA. Mr. Babbitt was born in Wareham, MA on November 11, 1950, the son of William M. and Marjorie A. Babbitt. He was the brother to Deidre L. Unangst of Avon, Ohio and Steven M. Babbitt of Hyannis, MA.

Graduating in 1969, Mr. Babbitt was a student athlete at Proctor Academy in North Andover, New Hampshire.

Mr. Babbitt served many including: Hubbard Paint, Hy-Line, IFAW, care taker at St. Mary’s Island , facility engineer at Prospect Hill Executive Office Park, Cranberry Point - Epoch of Harwich, and Mayflower Place.

He was a past member of the Old Kings Highway Commission, past President of the Cape Cod Master Gardner’s Association. David was an avid fisherman and hunter, prolific gardner, and breeder of black labradors. Mr. Babbitt was a charter and life long member of the Cape Cod Commandos.

Mr. Babbitt is survived by three nieces, ten nephews, six great nieces, and four great nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Hyannis Federated Church on Friday, November 11, beginning at 10:30AM followed by a 12:00PM Memorial Service at the Hyannis Federated Church. Luncheon will be served following the service at the Baldwin Hall at the church.
