Cynthia Campbell of Centerville passed away at home on June 4, 2022. She was born in Quincy MA the daughter of the late George Leland Stevens and Ruth (Bartlett) Stevens. She was the devoted wife of 65 years to Linton Campbell
Cynthia graduated from Quincy High School, class of 1954 and that Summer she met a very nice guy who drove a cool ‘49 Merc Convertible, red with no mufflers. That nice guy later became her husband. While Linton was stationed in Korea, she went on to study at the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School of Boston and completed her studies in 1956. She worked in the Manager of Shipbuilding Office at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy MA. After marrying Linton she continued her career at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, Purchasing Department in Hartford Connecticut and subsequently, Connecticut General Insurance Company in Bloomfield, CT. When her husband, Lin, relocated to Massachusetts she worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Plant Manager, W.R. Grace in Acton MA and retired from Grace in 1991. However not truly ready to retire, she continued working for another 4 years with Welch’s in Concord MA.
Lin and Cindy retired to the Cape in 1996 and there she became an active member of the Covenant Community Church in Sandwich MA. It was in her retirement years on the Cape where she mastered her craft of quilting. As a member of two quilt guilds, Bayberry Quilters in Brewster and Holly Berry Quilters in Falmouth, she received numerous ribbons for her handiwork. She left a legacy of beauty and comfort with amazing quilting skills. In addition to quilting, she enjoyed reading, knitting, and she loved spending time with friends and her Cape Cod life.
Cindy is survived by her daughter Priscilla Campbell Klock and her husband James Klock of Littleton MA, her son Mitchell Campbell and his wife Linda of Franklin MA, grandchildren Emma Campbell, Bradley and Rachel Klock. She is also survived by her brothers George L Stevens Jr and his wife Ann of Lake Havasu, AZ and Gregory B Stevens and his wife Billie of Fancy Gap VA and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Linton, sister Linda Managhan and brother William A Stevens
Family and friends are invited to gather at Doane, Beal and Ames, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis on Monday, June 13th at 12:00 p.m. for a procession to Massachusetts National Cemetery where a committal service will be held at 1:30 p.m.
