Carolyn C. Pierce

Carolyn (Cook) Pierce, 73, of Hyannis passed away on November 26th surrounded by her loving family.

She was married to Dana W. Pierce for more than 50 years. She is survived by her daughters Phoebe (Pepi Pierce) Colarullo of Ayer, MA and Kristen (Pierce) Laube of Hyannis, MA. She was the sister of the late Phoebe Cook Weston of West Yarmouth. She leaves behind five grandchildren; George and Courtney Colarullo of Ayer, MA and Pierce, Reese and Greta Laube of Hyannis, MA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was a lifelong resident of Hyannis, MA and graduated from Barnstable High School in 1962 and earned a Business Degree from Florida Southern College in 1966.

She was a teacher at Barnstable High School for many years and taught in the business department and managed the school store. Carolyn worked for more than 20 years at the Cape Cod Melody Tent starting out as an usherette as a young girl and working her way up to General Manager.

In her spare time, she could be found spending hours volunteering as an official and tireless volunteer at many US Figure Skating competitions and events all over New England and the east coast, including Eastern Sectional Championships, New England Regional Championships, Adult National Championships, the National Governing Council, Theatre on Ice National Championships, Theatre on Ice Nations’ Cup and, the annual Cranberry Open held every August. Additionally, Carolyn has participated on numerous US Figure Skating committees over the years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Marcus & Kristen Laube of Hyannis on Saturday December 22, 2018 from 3-7 pm. A private burial service will be held for family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolyn’s name to Yarmouth Ice Club Skaters Fund, Box 917, South Dennis, MA 02660.
