Barbara was the daughter of the late Paul Leo and Marion Leland Lefebvre, formerly of South Hadley, Massachusetts. She was born in Providence, RI on December 31, 1938, and was a 1956 graduate of South Hadley High School. She received an associates degree in 1958 from Colby Junior College, in New London, NH.
In 1961, she married her husband of 47 years, the late Richard Hart Morse, Jr. of Springfield. They moved to Centerville in 1964, where Barbara devoted herself to being a homemaker and mother for 14 years. She was then employed by the Barnstable Public Schools for 26 years and worked in the libraries of many of the Town’s schools, but spent most of the time at the high school.
Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed music, travel, socializing, and her dogs. A Boston sports diehard, she especially enjoyed watching the New England Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins. She loved spending time with her cousins on Lake Sunapee. She adored attending her grandchildrens’ numerous sporting events and functions, and could be regularly seen at playing fields and hockey rinks.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Paul Leo Lefebvre and his wife Marcia McKelligan of Green Castle, Indiana, her two daughters, Susan M. Fitzgerald and her husband Don of Houston, Texas, and Heather L. Riley and her husband Gus of Barnstable; her niece Lauren Cylkowski and her husband David of Dallas, Texas, and four grandchildren, Jane and Grace Fitzgerald and Brennan and Rebecca Riley.
