Barbara Clifton (Kendrick) Long, 97, of Harwich, MA passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at Cape Cod Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin Elliott Long, Sr.
Barbara was the daughter of the late Kenneth Clifton and Dorothy (Eldridge) Kendrick. She was born in Hyannis at Cape Cod Hospital, raised in Chatham and moved to Harwich with her family at the age of 16.
Barbara was the beloved cook of Harwich Elementary School where she continued to work through her 70’s. She was honored to have a road next to the school named after her, 'Barbara's Way'.
When Barbara was young, she was known for her love of motorcycles, her long hair, and bare feet. She enjoyed going to the dog track and playing the lottery. Barbara also delighted in bowling and was undefeated at miniature golf! She appreciated the beauty of Cape Cod beaches, ice cream, and rhubarb pie.
Barbara is survived by and will be dearly missed by her daughters Deborah Morris of Hyannis, MA and Patricia Flink of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by her many cherished grandchildren, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Benjamin, she is predeceased by her daughter Sharon Curran and son Benjamin Elliott Long, Jr.
