Samuel S Shaffer

Samuel Smith Shaffer, 89, of Huntsville passed away October 4, 2010. Sam was born on May 7, 1921 to Joyce Smith Shaffer and Reuel Ross Shaffer in Davis, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rena C. Hanton, sister Ida Marie Johnson, brother Reul Ross Shaffer, Jr. and Major George W. Shaffer, US Army Air Force.

Survivors include his brother, Robert J. Shaffer and wife Celeste of Houston, Texas, niece Deborah Limback of Colorado Springs, Colorado, niece Jacque Lynne Shaffer Hodges of Tulsa, Oklahoma, niece Susan Shaffer Richardson of Sugarland, Texas, nephew George William Shaffer, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma and nephew Robert J. Shaffer, Jr. of Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Sam enjoyed a career in personalized sales for Neiman Marcus working with well known clients and worked as their Display Manager in Houston, Dallas, Galveston and New Orleans. He came to Huntsville and worked as a floral designer for Jim Woolum Florist. During his retirement he enjoyed gardening.

Graveside Service will be held from 10:00 A.M. Saturday October 9, 2010 at the Oakwood Cemetery, Mayes Addition in Huntsville. Services are under the direction of Huntsville Funeral Home.
