Betty M. Waldron, 77, of Huntsville, Texas, passed away on March 20, 2013, at home. Betty was born in ElDorado, Arkansas, the fifth of six daughters born to Homer and Jewel McPherson. She was a 1954 graduate of ElDorado High School. She retired from SHSU where she worked in accounting in the Criminal Justice Department. In her retirement years she joined the First Baptist of Dodge and became a member of the wonderful group of ladies in the Ruth Sunday School Class. A devoted wife and mother, she will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, retired Warden George Waldron; sisters, Winona Williamson, Juaniece Burk, and Wanda Cowan; and brother-in-law, Bob Waldron.
She is survived by a son, Doug Waldron of Angleton, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Rob Louther of Dodge, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Dwight Weeks of Waxahachie, Texas; sister Dorinda Galbraith of Florida; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ginger and Gerald Taylor of Lake Jackson, Texas; and sister-in-law Patty Waldron of Missouri. Also surviving are five loving grandchildren; Zaida, Zanthe, Mac and Zyla Louther and Brandon Jones; and one great-grandchild, Kaleigh Jones. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Visitation for Mrs. Waldron will be from 4-6 P.M. on Friday, March 22, 2013, at Huntsville Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Brooke Cemetery with Rev. Jim Newton and Rev. Jason Bay officiating.
