Winfred Hayes, also known as "Opi" or "Sarge" peacefully entered heaven Saturday night from his home. Although he will be greatly missed, we rejoice that he is no longer suffering. Retired SFC Winfred Hayes is survived by his wife of 49 years Helga Hayes and his daughter Pam Raper. Other survivors include His son-in law Jeremy Raper and his granddaughters Isabella, Olivia and Aliza whom he loved so dearly. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday afternoon at Valhalla Funeral Home with visitation at 1 and services beginning at 2.
