William Milton Doty, Sr., of Huntsville, AL passed away July 9, 2018, at age 84. “Bill” Doty was born in Detroit Michigan on May 19, 1934. Bill moved to Huntsville from Detroit in 1955 to work with Chrysler as an engineer in the aerospace industry before shifting to Chrysler’s automotive electronics business. He married Patricia in 1977 and forever joined their two families together. After working 41 years with Chrysler, Bill retired and immediately started living his retirement days by golfing, gardening and having lunch with his Chrysler family. He also enjoyed Balance Class at Steady for Life, volunteering with Mended Hearts at Huntsville Hospital and at Burritt on the Mountain, and attending Broadway Theater League performances with Patricia. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife Patricia, son Marty Rogers, son Ricky (Elunda) Rogers, daughter Lynlee (Jack) Sims, daughter Kristin (Lyle) Osadchuk, son Bill (Elizabeth) Doty Jr., and grandchildren Caleb (Emily) Rogers, John Sims, Nathan Sims, Matthew Sims, Ellie Sims, Alyssa Osadchuk, Alec Osadchuk, Sarah Jayne Doty and Willah Doty, along with his beloved dog, Pogo.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Huntsville AL, officiated by Senior Minister Sherill Clontz and Director of Discipleship Lydia Locke. Visitation will be at 1:00pm, followed by a service at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Huntsville Humane Society, Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mended Hearts through Huntsville Hospital, or the Huntsville Hospice Family Care Center.
