He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Catherine Miller Jones, his parents Roscoe Vernon Jones and Marjorie Day Jones, his sister’s Anne Eastwood (George), Betty Richards (Maurice) and brother Jimmy Jones.
Left to cherish his memory are daughters Peggy Neely (Brant), Margie Alexander (Steve), four grandchildren B.J. Neely (Mandy), Brandon Neely, Stephanie Monk (Bill), Andrew Alexander (Julie) and eight great grandchildren.
He graduated from West Blockton High School in 1948. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1949 where he served for twenty years retiring in 1969 as Chief Warrant Officer 3. He later worked as a civil servant for the U.S. Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal, fully retiring in 1993. He was an avid hunter and also enjoyed collecting coins, knives and reading.
Private Immediate family services with military honors were held at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens August 14, 2022 officiated by Pastor Timothy Lanier of College Park Church of God with Interment completed immediately following the services.
