William Royce Hattaway Sr.

William Royce Hattaway Sr., age 88, of Madison, Alabama passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022. Born to Jesse and Emma Hattaway in Defuniak Springs, FL. Married to his wife, Yvonne A. Hattaway, for over 50 years before her passing in 2013. Survived by sons William R. Hattaway, Jr. and John A. Rogers of Huntsville, AL; Sister Toi Morse of Blountstown, FL; Granddaughter Courtney Smith and great grandson Landon Binford of Huntsville, AL.

Royce gave many decades to our country by serving in the US Navy, as well as a Senior Executive Service Leader for the United States Federal Government. With a loving and charitable heart, he gave to numerous non-profit organizations to feed less fortunate children all around the world for countless years. The love that he had for his wife, family, and friends was like no other. His love was unconditional, educational, affirming, and motivating. He stood on business, principle, and honesty. A man of his word. A true Patriarch to our family. Not a man of many words, however when he spoke, we knew we could “bank on it”. He will truly be missed.

A visitation for William will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. Following the visitation will be a the celebration of life service at 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811.
