Wayne Combs, age 79, of Gurley passed away on December 27. Wayne retired from the Alabama State Patrol after 35 years of service as a State Trooper, and was also a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Helion Lodge No 1 F. & A.M and is predeceased by his wife, Virginia Combs, daughter, Denise Combs, brother, Charles Combs. Wayne is survived by his daughter, Tiffani Combs-Davis, granddaughter, Malia Davis, brothers; Jerry Combs, Butch Combs, Randall Combs, sisters, Judy Rowell, Sue Wilkerson, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service for Wayne will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Cassity officiating with inurnment to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 til 1 PM at the funeral home.
