He was born in Roanoke, VA, January 14, 1949, son of the late Dewey Chenowith Hamilton and Ruth VanZandt Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Dewey Grammar and his brother, Richard VanZandt Hamilton.
Thomas proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army. He also served as a Bridge Officer in the America's Boating Club, formerly United States Power Squadron, on the Dist. 17 Bridge and the Huntsville Sail and Power Squadron Bridge.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee (Broomall) Hamilton; a brother, David Hamilton (Gerry); a son, Matthew Hamilton (Sue); daughters, Anna Hamilton, Nicole Cobb, Michelle Steed (Billy Smith); stepson, Chris Epperly (Laura). His seven grandchildren, Austin, Abbey, Millie, Tori, Haley, Ruthie and Eli. His four great grandchildren, Cali, Carli, Stormie and Sage. He is also survived by three nieces, Mary, Margie, Ruth Ann and one nephew, Brian.
The Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd. NE, Huntsville, AL 35811.
