Shelby Jean West McDaniel

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Glenn McDaniel and parents, Elmer Lee and Katie West; sisters, Brenda Carter, Hazel Hornbuckle and Louise Brooks; and brothers, Charles and Lee West. Shelby is survived by her daughters, Debbie Hagood and husband Scott and Patricia Black and husband Stewart; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty McElroy, Marie McEylea, Shirley Shepard, Linda Chrisco and brother, Raleigh West. Shelby loved her family and friends and especially loved to cook for them. She was the devoted wife of an Army soldier for 21 years. She was an emotionally strong, understanding and independent women who did what was necessary to care for her family. She was a long-time member of Randolph Church of Christ.

Visitation will be April 5, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home. Services will be April 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow services in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
