Sharon Leigh Marik, 77, went home to be with her heavenly father on October 27th, 2022 in Madison, AL. She was born August 25th, 1945, in California. She was the daughter of Willie Mayburn and Ernestine Renkert Redd. Sharon grew up in Lawrenceburg, TN in the home of her grandmother, Ruby Redd.
Sharon went to beauty school and moved to Huntsville to work as a hairdresser in the 1960s. This is how she came to meet her husband, Bob Marik. They shared a wonderful life of 56 years together. They have two sons, David and Jonathan Marik, and one daughter, Pam Lovell.
Sharon and her best friend, Nancy Brown owned and operated the Liberty Tree and the Mole Hole gift shops for 30 years together. After closing shop, Sharon enjoyed the last 22 years watching the sunsets with her husband from her beautiful hilltop property on Lands End Drive.
Sharon “Dia” loved spending time with her five grandsons, Jordon, Chase, Zachary, Samuel, and Lincoln. She was proud of her grandchildren and was often heard sharing the stories of the wonderful memories they made together.
Sharon had a passion for reading the Bible and sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you knew Sharon she was going to talk to you about Jesus and her love for her Savior. She loved going to Bible Study every week. Her home was filled with many Bibles, Bible study guides, and commentaries. She was blessed with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the Holy Land in 2019.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ernestine Redd; two brothers, Billy and Ricky Redd.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband Bob Marik; two sons, David Marik (Susan), of Montana, Jonathan Marik (Angie) of Madison, AL; her daughter, Pam Lovell (Tim), of Huntsville, AL.
The legacy of “Dia” will live on in the lives of her grandchildren, whom she loved very much, Jordon, Chase, Zachary, Samuel, and Lincoln.
Visitation for Sharon will be held Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home, 698 Winchester Rd Ne, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. Following the visitation will be a Celebration of Life service at 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel. Sharon will be laid to rest in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
