Funeral for Sarah Nell Smith Hunt, 81, of Huntsville, Alabama will be Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home with Elder Fae Harwell officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 6, between 6 and 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hunt, who died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at her residence, was born March 12, 1933, in Albertville, AL, to William H. and Winnie V. Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Hubert Smith and Edward Smith; and one sister, Jimmy Lou Smith; and one son, Larry Wayne Hunt.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ernest Hunt, Jr.; two sons, James Hunt, of Huntsville, and John Hunt, of Decatur; one sister, Mary Ann Johnson (Floyd), of Paint Rock, Alabama; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hunt was a member of Emmanuel Church of Christ, of New Market. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of North Alabama
