She is predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Gene Ashley.
Surviving family are her children, Vicki (Gordon) Jones of Huntsville, Deana (Mike) Henson of Huntsville, Kevin (LeAnn) Strickland of Russellville, and step-children Barry (Dorothy) Ashley of Houston and Brian (Gina) Ashley of Madison. Angela Denise Ashley preceded her in death.
June was a longtime resident of Huntsville, AL where she was a homemaker for much of her life. She served as the secretary to the head of the Math department at the University of Alabama when she was in college. She also served as a secretary at her beloved University Baptist Church for 3 years. After raising her family, June pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She attained a nursing degree (with honors) and worked as a nurse later in life. June will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, love for her family, and her love of her Lord and Savior.
The visitation is from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Valhalla Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation, also at the Valhalla Funeral Home. Reverend Doug Browner will be officiating. The burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
