RET 1SGT Roy Dewayne Strout

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Lou Strout of Ardmore, AL; two daughters, Cindy Strout Nutt (Paul) of Ardmore, AL, Cathy Strout Funderburg (Darin) of Murfreesboro, TN; two grandchildren, Ashley Renner (Michael) of Cleveland, TN and Mason Funderburg of Murfreesboro, TN; along with his siblings, Gerald Strout, Bobby Strout, and Cassie Ramsey. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Roy married Bonnie Lou Noble Strout on May 29, 1965, they were married for 55 years. He joined the Army in 1965 and completed 20 years of service, retiring in 1985. He was a beloved Deacon of Piney Grove Baptist Church of Ardmore, AL.

You may visit with the family on Monday, June 8, 2020 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral Services, officiated by Pastor Aaron Armstrong of Piney Grove Baptist Church, will begin at 2:00pm in Valhalla’s Chapel. The service will also be live streamed via Facebook at Valhalla Funeral Home and Valhalla Memory Gardens. Interment, with full military honors, will immediately follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in the Garden of Valor.
