Mrs. Reba Joyce Helms

July 31, 1937 – January 8, 2015

Reba J. Helms, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2015 at St. Vincent/St. Clair Hospital in Pell City, AL. Mrs. Helms was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight Wheeler and Irene Coggins Wheeler.

Mrs. Helms is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Orris Gary Helms; her son, Russell A. Helms and his wife Linda Frost of Chattanooga, TN; 2 sisters, Jean Markham and husband Neil of Prattville, AL, and Charlotte Weldon and husband Danny of Anniston, AL; 2 grandchildren, Cora Frost-Helms and Lucy Frost-Helms of Chattanooga, TN, along with nieces and nephews.

Reba had a wonderful sweet disposition and was devoted to her husband and her church. She very much embraced God and country. She also had a very benevolent spirit and excelled in writing cards and lifting people up in their times of need. She lived her faith and was quite the “prayer warrior!” Reba and Gary were long time members at Haven Baptist Church and also Westlawn and Heritage Baptist, in addition to Mineral Springs Baptist. They have lived in Pell City for the last ten years. Reba Helms was dearly loved and will be missed by many!

You may visit with the family on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Valhalla Funeral Home from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. There will be a funeral service conducted by Rev.
