Mr. R. C. Russell

R. C. RUSSELL February 26, 1933 – September 16, 2015 R. C. Russell, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Tut Fann State Veterans Home. Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Lila Rosser Russell; his first wife, Esther Russell in 1991; and recently his son, Randolph Russell. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 16 years, Irma Laster Russell; his sons, John, Raymond and Ralph; his daughter, Priscilla; Mother-in-law, Ruth Ross; brother-in-law, William Laster; several cousins, grandchildren, and special brand-new great grandchild, Harmony Ray Russell, a host of nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives. R. C. was a proud US Army veteran of 22 years and attended numerous schools and received countless awards for his service. He received the Army’s Commendation Medal for his service while assigned to TUSLOG Detachment 4-2 during Sept. of 1965 to July of 1967. R. C. also liked to fish when he retired. R. C. Russell was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him! You may visit with the family on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 2:00PM-3:30PM at Valhalla Funeral Home. There will be a chapel funeral service at Valhalla officiated by Rev. Vernette Brewton commencing at 3:30PM. Full military honors with flag presentation will conclude the service.
