Phyllis W. "Gert" Davenport

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the chapel of Valhalla Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Cole officiating. A private interment at Valhalla Memory Gardens will follow. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.

Gert, as she was affectionately called, was born on April 1, 1941 in Anniston, Alabama to Manley and Elma Wildman. She lived life to the fullest and loved bowling, baseball (The Braves) and football (Alabama). Gert also found visiting Tunica quite enjoyable.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Davenport; daughter, Kelley Lawson; son-in-law, Randy Lawson; and grandson, Justin Lawson.

Gert leaves to cherish precious memories her daughter, Leslie Solley (Gary); grandsons, Matthew Solley, Josh Lawson (Carrie) and Cody Lawson; sister, Rev. Nancy Cole (Steve); great granddaughters, Leah and Aubrey Lawson; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
