On Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020, Peggy R. Walker, loving mother, sister and Nannie went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a very short and courageous battle with cancer. She was greeted at the Heavenly gates by the love of her life her late husband, Wayne Walker and her parents.
Peggy was born April 8, 1942 in Winfield, Alabama to the late Bryan and Hayte Reid. She graduated from S.R. Butler High School in 1959 and five days later married the love of her life Wayne Walker. Together they raised 2 children, Sharron and Bryan and were married 60 years until his passing in 2019. She also had many that called her mom and she loved them dearly.
Mom was a passionate Alabama and Atlanta Braves fan never missing a game. She was a member of University Baptist Church where she was very active and loved her Sunday School class. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving children, Sharron Hadaway and her husband James and Bryan Walker and his wife Joni; grandchildren, Mallory Hadaway, Bryanna Gowan and her husband Alex and Evan Hadaway; sister, Elizabeth Cooper-Potts; sister-in-law, Pat Atnip and her husband Joe, as well as several very special nieces, nephews and cousins.
