Muriel Catherine (Zaal) Montgomery

July 13, 1941 – February 1, 2018

Muriel Catherine Montgomery, 76, passed away peacefully at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman J. and Doris K. Helliwell Zaal; and one brother, Bruce Zaal.

Left to cherish her precious memory is her loving husband of 55 years, L. K. “Ken” Montgomery; two daughters, Lori Horton and her husband, Pepper of Greenville, SC and Patti Montgomery of Hazel Green, AL; one son, Erik Montgomery of Rocklin, CA; six wonderful grandchildren; four nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends.

Catherine, as most friends called her, was a loving wife, mother and grandmother with a great sense of humor with love for her family and life itself. She was an entrepreneur who founded Sew Sassy Fabrics in 1987. Her talent and knowledge of the industry, along with her careful attention to details, allowed her to guide this internet based business through 31 successful years of providing sewing products to the international sewing community. Catherine Montgomery will be sorely missed by all who knew her!
