Michael Mark “Mike” Aden passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on June 28, 1953, in Great Lakes, Illinois, Mike was the beloved son of William Odell Aden and Nora Louise Aden.
Mike was a proud Alabama Crimson Tide fan, always ready to cheer on his team. He attended Drake Technical College, where he pursued his passion for cars by studying automotive technology. His love for vehicles extended beyond the classroom—he also enjoyed building model trucks, a hobby he found both relaxing and rewarding.
Over the years, Mike worked at several places, including Goodwill Industries and Subway, and he generously gave his time helping neighbors by mowing their lawns. His lifelong friendship with Robbie, a friend since elementary school, was one of the many meaningful relationships he cherished throughout his life.
Mike is survived by his loving family: his brother, Richard Aden; his sister, Nora (Pat) Hand; his niece, Shawna (Mike) Guthrie; and two nephews, Matthew (Erica) Hand and Nathan (Casey) Hand. He was also a proud great-uncle to eight nieces and nephews: Cailyn, Peyton, Jacob, Emma, Grace, Stratton, Nora, and Cotton.
A devoted member of Lincoln Church of Christ, Mike found comfort and community in his faith. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lincoln Church of Christ, 1307 Meridian St N, Huntsville, AL 35801.
A funeral service celebrating Mike’s life will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Valhalla Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Road, Huntsville, AL 35811. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM, led by Ron Williams.
Mike will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and quiet dedication to the people and things he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
