Mary Elizabeth Lindsey February 20, 1929 – July 5, 2015 Mary Lindsey, 86, passed away peacefully Sunday July 5, 2015 at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by her parents, William Bynum and Jessie Brooks Bynum; four brothers, Bill, Jessie Clarence, Dan and Jack; two sisters, Annette and Veda; and her loving husband of over 50 years, Ottis G. Lindsey. Left to cherish her precious memory is her daughter, Gayle (Jesse) Ortner; two sons, Tony (Mary) Lindsey, and Terry (Lisa) Lindsey; two sisters in law, Margie Bynum and Ann Bynum; four grandchildren, Caroline, Brian, Kim, and Lindsey; three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends. Mary, as everyone knew her, was a brave, strong, independent woman. She was a long time member of Madison Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school. She loved to cook and take care of her husband and family, she always had meals ready before every ball practice. She collected owls and had them everywhere. In her early years she made ceramics. She loved her grandkids and helped raise all of them. She was a great story teller and enjoyed talking about the adventures of her life. Mary Lindsey was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her! You may visit with the family at Madison Church of Christ on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. The funeral service conducted by Ministers Brandon Pressnell and Mike Winkler will commence at 1:00PM at the church. The entombment will immediately follow at Faith Memorial Park in Madison.
