Marilyn Kay Stanford, a long-time resident of New Market, Alabama passed away on Monday June 10, 2024. Marilyn was born in Reading, Pa to George & Catherine Sheehan, at the tender age of five, she relocated with her family to Miami, Florida, where she spent her formative years.
Marilyn was a school bus driver for the Madison County school system for 20 years. She also worked at Crestwood medical Center as an emergency room registrar for 21 years. Marilyn's life was enriched by her passions. She had a profound love for horseback riding and cherished her animals dearly. Family was central to Marilyn's life, and she treasured the moments spent with her loved ones. She was particularly fond of trips to the beach, which provided her with immense joy and relaxation. Evenings on her back porch were Marilyn's special time, where she delighted in watching hummingbirds flit around her 3-acre property in New Market. This was her sanctuary for over 40 years, a place where she found peace and happiness.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter Serina, her son Justin, and her beloved grandchildren Silas and Cillian. She leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
A Celebration of Life Service for Marilyn will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811.
