Laura Jane Vaughn Page

Laura Jane Vaughn Page, 87, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Jane was a descendant of Melkijah Vaughn a signor of the Alabama Constitution in 1819 and his son George Washington Vaughn one the of first settlers of the Monrovia community in Madison County. She followed in her ancestor’s path and was a lifelong resident of Monrovia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Ralph Earl Vaughn, Sr.; husband, Rabon Porter Page; daughter, Vivian Page Cunningham; brother, R.E. Vaughn; sisters, Dorothy Mitchell, Minnie Lee Worley, Lois Foster and Sara Wall Stewart.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Annette Solari (John); four grandsons, Clint Atkinson, Nathaniel Cunningham (Allison), Zachary Cunningham (Rachel) and Clay Mills; six great grandchildren, Jonah Standiford, Vivian Rose Atkinson, Casen Cunningham, Beckett Cunningham, Vivian Cunningham and Lyla Cunningham; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jane was a longtime member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and Grace Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Lakewood Civitan. She also served as President of the Presbyterian Women, Presbyterian Church (USA). Jane devoted many hours volunteering for multiple organizations, notably Hospice of Huntsville and Meals on Wheels.

Jane’s passions included the love of piano playing, traveling with her husband and friends, visiting with friends and family. She was the life of the party and loved to socialize. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to thank the many individuals that cared for and loved Jane in her later years.

You may visit with the family on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00pm, with Rev. Robin Palmer officiating. Entombment will immediately follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Jane’s memory.
