John “Jack” Francis Ruddy, beloved husband, father and grandfather, born January 18, 1938 and died on February 25, 2022 in his family home. He is survived by his spouse of 60 years, Johnnie Faye Ruddy; sister, Barbara Anne Reynolds; aunt, Heloise Reed. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Francis Barret Ruddy and Donna Carrier; his sister Gloria Sue Mann.
Jack and Johnnie have two daughters, Donna Groce (Vernon) and Suanne Hockman (Michael). They have four grandchildren, Asa Freedman, Ashley Stephan, Corey Groce, and Bryan Parker Denton.
Jack was raised in Waynesburg, Kentucky and spent the majority of his adult life in Madison County, AL. Jack served 10 years in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant followed by 10 years as a Petty Officer Naval Reservist. He particularly enjoyed being stationed in Germany, Tampa and Alaska. Jack worked as a Communication Specialist for the Federal Government at Redstone Arsenal for 29 years. Jack loved his family, traveling, the Gulf Coast particularly, Kentucky Wildcats basketball and Alabama Crimson Tide football. He will be greatly missed and thought of often.
