I had the pleasure of working with Jim the past 5 years out of every one I have met through my government contracting career Jim was the sharpest and most hardworking. Never had the opportunity to meet him in person but he was one of the coolest people to talk to! He will be greatly missed! Fair Winds and Following seas Brother 

Mr. Tietjen, was one of the kindest, sincerest, and genuine human being that I came to know as a patient through my job; The Medicine Shoppe. Mr. Tietjen was one of a kind and will never be forgotten!

Jim had talent, intelligence and warmth that you began to discover as you got to know him better. In many ways he was a success — two careers, a fine and loving family, and a host of friends. Sevil and Jennifer, may you find peace and strength in your memories of him.

What a man Jim was.  An infantryman in Vietnam, a steadfast leader and mentor in a full career in the U.S. Army, an accomplished writer with a gift for making users understand how to make technology applications work for them, a generous and wise co-worker, a loyal and loving husband and father, a deeply good person.  He set a wonderful example of citizenship and fellowship in all the dimensions those words connote.  I am proud to call you my high school classmate and fellow veteran, Jim.  Rest in peace, dear lifelong buddy.

I am better for knowing you, better for working with you, better for the many times that we walked together, better for having met you. May you be as blessed in the next life, my friend, as I was in this one by knowing you. To the family my depest sympathy.

Sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. 
I hope in this sad time that you can find peace and hope. 
I knew and worked with Jim off and on for almost two decades. His sense of humor and insight will be greatly missed. It was never a dull moment with Jim around. He’d love to throw these words around that were so obscure that you had to look them up! His favorite by far was “transmogrify” or “transmogrification”. He would use these to describe the graphics we needed to do, and after finding out what it meant he was spot on. He now has done one last transmogrification to a place without pain or suffering.   Rest easy my friend, you’ve earned it. 

My condolences. Jim and I worked together. I will remember his friendship, mentorship, and great jokes. 

I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing, and my thoughts are with you and your family, Sevil. As you know we were classmates at Georgia Military Academy. It was such a blessing to reconnect with Jim and other classmates last November. May he rest in peace.



May your happy memories give you peace and comfort during this challenging time. Words cannot express how saddened we are to learn of your loss. Jim was an awesome friend, and coworker with a great sense of humor who was admired by all and who will live in our hearts and memories forever.
