A resident of Madison, Al, for 48 years. Born May 25, 1930, in Georgiana, Al, he was a son of Robert and Sarah Hooks Joyner. First Sergeant Joyner of the United States Army served a total of four combat tour of duties in Korea, Vietnam, and during the Berlin Crisis. Until recently, he was an avid square dancer with The Fun Bunch, he was also a member of numerous Huntsville bowling leagues in the 1970’s and 80’s.
He was preceded in death in May of this year by his wife of 68 years of marriage Helen Joyner. He is survived by; two children, Barbara Jenkins of Madison, Al, and Micheal Joyner of Athens, Al; five grandchildren, Sean Monahan, Shanna Joyner, James Joyner, Amanda Jenkins, and Jacob Jenkins.
Interment will be at Valhalla Funeral Home. There will be a small funeral service for family members on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 2:00pm at Valhalla Memory Gardens at the Masonic Mausoleum Building B. Chaplain Randy Evers will officiate.
