James was a devoted family man, he never met a stranger and was willing to help people any way he could. James loved to fish with his family and friends, play music and this talent was shared with several Gospel groups.
James is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and daughter, Amber Perry.
He is survived by his wife; Julie Johnson, daughter; Krystal (John) Johnson, son; Justin (Tonya) Johnson, one brother Finis (Rose) Johnson, three sisters; Diane (Neal) Clark, Donna Branton, Debbie (Martin) Garcia, and 8 grandchildren.
A visitation for James will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811. A Celebration of Life Service will occur Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home's Celebration Chapel. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
