

Grady Wayne Johnson, age 82, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on April 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 1, 1943, in Anniston, Alabama, to Grady H. Johnson and Alice Hewitt.
He lived a life marked by devotion, kindness, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.
Grady was a devoted husband to Carol S. Johnson and a proud father to his daughters, Lisa and Ashley. He was a man of many talents, always ready to lend a hand. He was a jack of all trades, known for his skills in working on cars from his time spent at Chrysler, where he made lasting memories and friendships.
Grady was a man with a big heart. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need, and his dependability and loving nature made him a friend to many. He was a good Christian and he loved spending time with his wife and friends. His spirit and joy for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Grady was predeceased by his parents, Grady H. Johnson and Alice Hewitt Johnson; his grandson, Rob Lane; and his cousin, Pete Hanes. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol S. Johnson; his daughters, Lisa (Frank) Lane and Ashley (Ravi) Purandare; his grandchildren, Calvender, Azrael, Ember, Jaden, and Eralyn; and many other dear friends and family members who will miss him greatly.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hillwood Baptist Church located at 300 Kohler Rd SE, Huntsville, AL 35803, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. Grady will then be laid to rest at Valhalla Memory Gardens located at 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, AL 35811.
Grady’s legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
