He has lived in Huntsville since 1951.
Predeceased by parents Milton Dewey (Jerry) and Jessie Mae Hardin; sister, Nellie Ruth Hardin of Birmingham; first wife, Florence (nee Moore) and granddaughter, Jennifer Allyson Martin.
Mr. Hardin is survived by his wife, Nell Juanita (nee Hill) and stepdaughters Cindy (Andrew) Catarina of Jacksonville Beach, FL, and Kymberly (Charles) Drawdy of Statesboro, GA, and children Edward Dennis (Beatrice) Hardin of Tallahassee, FL, Joe Marshall (Susie) Hardin of Fort Smith, AR, Jerry Moore (Kimberley) Hardin of Huntsville, and Mary Ellen (Robert W., Jr.) Martin of San Ramon, CA.
Grandchildren are Jessie (Kari) Hardin of Durham, NC, Owen Hardin and Milly Hardin, both of Tallahassee, FL, Daniel Hardin and Adde Hardin, both of Huntsville, Carmelita (nee Catarina) and husband Alex O’Britis of Jacksonville, FL.
Survivors also include a large number of beloved nieces, nephews and their children.
Great-grandchildren are Jaxon Hardin of Durham, NC, Sophia Calvert of Tallahassee, FL, Mandalynne, Dylan, and Ella Hardin of Huntsville, AL, and A.J., Brinley, and Layla O’Britis of Jacksonville, FL.
Mr. Hardin attended Birmingham Southern College and the University of Alabama; served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946 in communication and aviation electronics and retired as an engineer from the U.S Army Missile Command.
He was an active member of the fraternal organizations of:
Masonic Blue Lodge Apollo #921 (charter member), Helion Lodge #1, Scottish Rite Bodies of Huntsville (charter member) Master Lodge of Perfection, Master Chapter Rose Croix, Master Council Kadosh, Master Consistory, Knight Commander Court of Honor, Royal Order of Scotland, Huntsville York Rite Bodies, Cahaba Shrine (charter member) and Order of the Eastern Star, Past Patron, Helion Chapter, Grand Chapter, Rainbow Advisory Board.

Family will be present to receive friends at Valhalla Funeral Home Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with the funeral services at 3:00. Entombment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Family Care- 3304 Westmill Drive, Huntsville, AL 35805 or to Cahaba Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund.
