Dottie Faye Woods, 79, passed away on June 19, 2024 at NHC in Columbia, Tennessee. Born in Lincoln County, Tennessee on April 27th, 1945, she graduated from Flintville High School in 1963 and went on to work at Lee Manufacturing, Amana, and retired as a Corrections Officer for the state of Tennessee.
Dottie had a deep love for animals throughout her life, and gave generously to several animal-related charities and relief funds. She was an avid reader, college football lover, and baseball fan.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Woods, her son Bryan Chance Smith, her brothers Bill, Bob, and Joe Pollard, her sisters Bettye Morrison and Bonnie Holder, and her nephew Michael Williamson.
Survivors include her daughter Shannon (Robert) Erath, her granddaughters Savanna Erath and Amanda Jo, and her niece Sonya Williamson, who was her closest companion in her later years.
As per Dottie’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
