Dorothy was born in Mansfield, Ohio to Ada Etzwiler and Albert Sprunger.
She married Raymond Weld Turner on December 18, 1948. Together they lived in many locations throughout their marriage, the longest in Huntsville, Alabama where they moved in 1950.
While in Huntsville Dorothy was a Charter member of Hospitality Club; she served on the Huntsville Youth Orchestra Board of Directors for ten years; and served as a Gray Lady at Randolph School. The Turners were longtime members of Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntsville.
With her husband she helped found the Turner Violin Company.
Dorothy was a very creative lady in the areas of gardening, painting, caligraphy, and home decorating. She was a superior cook and charming hostess.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dottie M. Turner of Birmingham, and step-son Charles R. Turner of Houston, Texas. She has two surviving step-grandchildren, and seven step-great grandchildren.
