CHARLOTTE CAROLINE SIMPSON September 25, 1935 – March 31, 2016 Charlotte Simpson, 80, passed away peacefully at Huntsville Hospital on Thursday, March 31, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Leona Thurston Reymond, and her grandson, Robert LeGrand Simpson. Left to cherish her precious memory is her loving husband of 63 years, Fred Simpson, Sr.; 2 sons, Fred (June) Simpson of Harvest and Robert (Karen) Simpson of Olive Branch, MS; a brother, Robert Reymond; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and several other relatives and friends. Charlotte spent her working years in administration with an Aerospace Corporation but also retired into full time work with the Red Cross Organization. A true Southern Belle, witty and bold whilst tender and loving, she encapsulated all that it means to be a steel magnolia. With a heart humbled by her love for the Lord, she cared for others and served them tirelessly with grace and class. Wife, mother, grandmother, friend and volunteer, she juggled her roles with an effortless strength that came from a heart bursting with love not duty. She cooked to fill our souls with warmth and comfort, she sewed to adorn our lives with beauty, she told stories to entertain, and like her mother she wrote to thread her memories through the tapestry of our family. She was a rock and haven for all those in need of comfort and solace; deeply loved, always remembered and forever missed by those who loved her. You may visit with the family at Valhalla Funeral Home on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 1:00-2:00PM. A funeral service conducted by Bro. Mel Strain will commence at 2:00PM in Valhalla’s Chapel. The entombment will immediately follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Red Cross Society @1101 Washington Street, Huntsville, AL 35801.
