Charlotte Karr Sanders

Charlotte Sanders, 86, passed away peacefully March 19, 2023. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 4, 1936. She was a 1954 graduate of Huntsville High School. She received her B.A. from the University of Alabama, and her M.A. of Education from Alabama A&M University. She taught school for 30 years. Her early career was spent teaching at Tuscaloosa County High, and Athens High School. She spent the last 24 years teaching in the business department at Huntsville High School; where she retired in 1996.

She loved her family and family gatherings. She spent many years sewing, smocking, and teaching sewing classes. She loved Alabama football, and her dog Honi.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jesse Sanders, her mother Lillian Hawkins, her father Fletcher Karr, and her granddaughter Sara Plasterer.

She is survived by her three children, Janice Plasterer (Dave), Michael Anderson (Susan) and Mark Anderson (Laura). 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Many thanks to special friend Tina Yates for all she did.

Visitation is Friday March 24th at 1:00 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home, service to follow at 2:00 with the burial immediately afterward. Pallbearers are: Chad Anderson, Clay Anderson, John Anderson, Tim Searcy, John Morgan Kramer, Conrad Stone, Joe Barber, and Paul Yates.
