Carl Jay Hartman, 57, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on March 8, 2024, in his hometown. He was born on February 4,1967 in Huntsville. He attended Grissom High School. Jay was a talented Interior Painter by profession and owner of Cherokee Painting Company. He had strong and passionate faith in Yahweh and Yahushua.
While at Grissom Jay was a star golfer on their team and went to State several times. He was one of the top pool players in Huntsville, and he was also an awesome artist.
Jay is survived by his wife, Patti Annette Guinn & her Father Jerry Guinn (Peggy); Daughter, Bernadette AnnMarie Hartman; Mother, Bernadette Van Pelt (Oran); Sister, Janeen Neely (Jon). Jay is also survived by several cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Jay was preceded in death by his father Robert Carl Hartman; Grandparents, Don & Bernadette Miller, & Clyde & Virlee Hartman.
Jay and Patti first met in the 1980's when they were preparing for a Spireno Singers mission trip sponsored by Whitesburg Baptist Church. They later reconnected at a small church called “Freedom House” about 3 years ago. After a lifetime of searching, they found each other and enjoyed great joy together. Jay spent much of his time digging deep into the scriptures and sharing what he learned through various social media platforms. His primary interest in the recent years was to unlock scriptural truths and share what he had learned.

A visitation for Carl will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, Alabama 35811, followed by a celebration of life service at 3:00 PM.
