Bobbie Jerrel (Tipps) Willis of Huntsville passed away on the evening of Monday, April 4, 2016. She was 81 years old.
Bobbie was born in Huntsville, Alabama in 1934. She was a 1953 graduate of S.R. Butler High School where she was a cheerleader and Best All-Around senior.
Bobbie would later marry her husband, Jerry, on May 4, 1955, in a small ceremony in Iuka, Mississippi. Their life together would take them around the world before bringing them home to Alabama.
She was known for her eternal optimism, compassion, and strength. Her love of friends, singing, dancing, and faith were matched only by her love of family.
Her mother, Melba Johnson of Huntsville, brother Jimmy Johnson of Detroit, and her husband, Jerry Willis of Huntsville, precede her.
She is survived by her five children - Craig, Bill, Mickey, Tina Ailor, and Trent, her eight grandchildren, one great-grandson, and siblings Bill Johnson of Cincinnati, Brenda Johnson Gladys of Huntsville, and Larry Johnson of Detroit, Michigan.
Visitation will be held at the Wesley Worship Center at First United Methodist Church, 120 Greene Street, Huntsville, Alabama, 35801 on Sunday, April 17, 2016, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m.
Flowers may be received by the church beginning at noon on Sunday.
