Dr. Moore was born and raised in a home his grandfather built on a small farm in Petersburg, Tennessee. It was here he learned the value of hard work. He graduated from Petersburg High School, and completed his pre-medical education at Lipscomb University. He graduated from Vanderbilt School of Medicine, where he also did his internship and residency in Pathology. He and his family spent two years in the Navy, stationed at Camp Pendleton, California during the Vietnam War. Dr. Moore moved his family to Huntsville to practice medicine among a great group of pathologists at Pathology Associates, P.A. Dr. Moore was a member of the Mayfair Church of Christ and worked with the youth, taught Bible classes, and was involved in mission work, particularly in Thailand, Scotland, and Cuba. He never lost his love for farm life. Soon after coming to Huntsville, he moved his family to a farm. Dr. Moore involved his family in gardening and raising cattle with the idea of spending time with family and teaching a good work ethic. He loved his children and grandchildren, and made time to spend with them. He was there to participate in all their activities as they grew up. Dr. Moore was a supporter of Christian education and served for many years on the Board of Directors of Madison Academy. He was on the Development Council at Lipscomb University and Harding University.
